Winter Academy

The Winter Basketball Academy is a specialized program designed to help young athletes refine their skills during the off-season. Running from December to March, this academy focuses on developing foundational and advanced techniques in basketball, combining rigorous training sessions with expert coaching. Key features of the Winter Academy include:

  • Weekly Training Sessions: 10 Sunday sessions,

    • Dec 8, 15  -  Jan 12, 19 & 26  -  Feb, 2, 9, 23  -  Mar 2, 9
      • athletes engage in intensive practice, focusing on key areas such as shooting accuracy, ball-handling, defensive techniques, and in-game decision-making.

  • Guest Trainers: Specialized sessions led by experienced guest coaches who bring unique perspectives and advanced training methods to the program.

  • State-of-the-Art Facilities: Access to cutting-edge tools like Shoot360 Sherwood Park for shooting mechanics and virtual analysis, ensuring athletes gain precise feedback and measurable improvements.

 

The Winter Academy places a strong emphasis on personalized development, tailoring training to each athlete’s needs and position. Beyond skill enhancement, the program fosters teamwork, resilience, and leadership, preparing players to excel in competitive environments.

This academy is open to athletes of varying skill levels who are eager to elevate their game and build confidence in a supportive, challenging environment.​​

10 - 1.5 Hour training sessions on Sunday Mornings

Specialized Shooting, Dribbling, Speed & Agility Practices

2 Specialized shooting sessions at at Shoot360 Sherwood Park

2 Specialized training with Kenny Johnson

KidSport Alberta offers grants to cover registration costs, ensuring all kids aged 18 and under can play sports. With nearly 40 local chapters, we remove barriers so all kids can play!

Jumpstart ensures kids from families in financial need get the same chance to participate as their peers. Whether trying a new sport or continuing a favorite, no child should be left out.
